Meet Recap

The Kenowa Hills track and field team hosted the season opener against Muskegon and Fruitport High School last night. In the end, the Knights ran away victorious with a 91-43 win against the Big Reds, and a 87-49 point differential over the Trojans.

Leading the way for the KH team was sophomore Emily Bajema. Bajema won the 400 meter run individually as well as helped the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays to first place finishes as well. Katie Westfall part of the first place 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 relays went on to win the 800 meter run. In the field Kirra Body finished 2nd in the shotput to Fruitport’s Mitchell. Her throw of 30’10” is her personal best. Body also took a strong 3rd place in discus. Bri Elliott reached to 7′ in pole vault, winning the girls event.

Other strong contributors included Kelsey Gruzin, Anna Berg, Chianne TerHaar, Katelyn Stulpe and Maria Donihue. The Knights look to compete this weekend at the Comstock Park Invite and will run their next conference meet against Reeths Puffer and Union High School on April 19th.
