Yesterday the lady Knights competed at Reeths Puffer in the OK Black Confererence Championships. Despite having held a solid third place during regular season competition, the team fell to fourth place behind Jenison, Mona Shores, and Reeths Puffer.
The team was led by Katie Westfall in points. Westfall’s first place in the 800 meter run solidified her as an All-Conference athlete. Westfall’s time of 2:23.39 is a personal best. She was also a contributing member of the 4×400 relay consisting of Aubrey Doucette, Emily Bajema, and senior Anna Berg. The team finished second with a time of 4:10.04. Their finish helped earn All-Conference honors for Doucette, Bajema, and Berg. Other All-Conference athletes consisted of Kelsey Gruzin and Rachel Sund. Gruzin was second in long jump along with competing in both the 100 dash and 4×100 relay. Sund ran along Gruzin in the relay, while finishing second place in pole vault at 8′.
The Knights look to extend their season as they move forward to the Regional Championships next Friday in Holt.
