The Kenowa Hills High School Athletic Department will honor one male and one female student athlete from their respective teams. These student-athletes are nominated by coaches and voted on by a panel of administrators, teachers, and peers. The recipients of this award must also be a standout in the classroom and in the community.
The Knight athletes of the month for September are Grace Teerman and Avrey Smith.
Gracie Teerman is a senior outside hitter for the varsity volleyball team at Kenowa Hills. As a co-captain, Gracie is an enthusiastic leader for her team and also contributes with her strong serve, passing, and incredible hustle. Gracie also maintains a 3.813 GPA, making her an outstanding student-athlete to represent the Knights. Great job, Gracie!
Avrey Smith is a senior captain of the cross country team. He is also one of the top 8 runners in the OK Black conference. This year he has medaled at the Cougar/Falcon Invitational and ran his personal best the Allendale Invite with a time of 17:01. Avrey also volunteers his time helping out at the middle school cross counrty races and also at the Lake Michigan Bridge Run in downtown Grand Rapids. Great job, Avrey!
